Editing
Today Tyler layered a picture over a clip within our title sequence. The picture wasn't fully opaque so this allowed the audience to see the picture over a clip of a governmental letter with a name being circled. The names correspond to the people in the pictures. This allows the audience to learn some of the characters within the movie from the title sequence.

Font

From the feedback we received we learnt that our original font didn't really fit our title sequence so we searched for another one.
As a group we all decided on a font that we felt suited the seqeunce better as the previous font felt a little bit childish.
We went decided to use a font we found on dafont called 'Wrong timw, right place'
After receiving feedback from our class on our first draft of our title seqeunce we began to make improvements to our seqeunce.
We were told that having the name of the movie at the end of the title seqeunce made it feel like a movie trailer so we moved it to earlier in the sequence.

Here are our feedbacks sheets that we
received from people commenting on the first draft of our title sequence. Using this we can now start to make adjustments to our sequence to improve it.

Here is the first draft of out title sequence. This draft shows how the finale sequence will look however it will be changed after we have received feedback on this draft.

Me and my 2 nieces set about filming the scene that would show children playing in the street, unfortunately I experienced some difficulty in this, the main difficulty was that my niece didn't want to be filmed, also the lighting wasn't the best.
As a result my evaluation of this section of our filming is that it was not a success and we decided not to use this part.
Editing
As he volunteered, the role of editor was adopted by Tyler (Jobs were allocated early on) and the main process was put under his control, while he edited myself and Rob worked on our blogs and I further worked on the key typography that would be used within our title sequence.

When editing Tyler focused on importing and editing small sections of our sequence rather than doing the whole section in one go, he started by focusing on the introduction of the characters using the police profiles and pictures and making them coincide.

Furthermore before we actually started the editing process we had to re-film the 'execution' scene from last week, the difference this time being that we filmed using the DSR camera (The Go Pro last time gave too wide a shot to be used), we used a small separated area near the English corridor as the stage for the scene, we took several shots of the scene including a long shot,a close-up and a mid shot.
We thought that this filming session went very well but Mrs McGrath felt that the brick wall behind us would not work, however she agreed to let us include it in the initial draft video and can re-analyse it with the whole class.

Overall though I believe that the filming today went very well and that the initial edit was a success.
Filming log:

Using a Go Pro and a DSLR camera we rented out from our school Rob filmed
scenes from back alleys of side-streets around the school area and filmed some footage in a forest as we wanted an isolated area.

Overall the filming  went very well and upon reviewing the clips at home I felt happy that the correct shots and scenes had been acheived.

Filming Log 20/2/2015

Today we re shot the execution scene. Our reasons for re shooting this scene were that when we originally shot the scene we used a go pro camera and this meant that we couldnt see what we filming. After watching the footage back we realised there was a lot of unwated scenery in the shot which effected the mise en scene of the scene.

We decided to use a DSLR this time as it allowed us to see what we filming and make sure there was no unwated sceneray in the background. We also were able to acheive a POV effect that the go pro gave us by using a tripod and making sure we located it in the right place.

Here are our storyboards that we used to help us follow narrative of our title sequence when filming and allow us to draw up how we wanted the scenes to look and use different angles and editing techniques.

Here are our production log sheets that we made so everyone in the group knew when we were filming and what we were filming. This also allowed to  us to rent out the equipment we needed in advance so we wouldn't have to worry about not having the right equipment we would need to film.

Editing

Over the last couple of weeks, Tyler has taken the lead role in editing our title sequence however we have all had input into into the way the final title sequence should look. Tyler has used a variety of editing techniques and used many different effects in order to aheive our desired look for the sequence.

Many different tranisitions were used to make sure all of the clips fitted well together along with different filters to give the movie a gritty feel to it.

Here are a selection of possible fonts that we may use for our title sequence, i found them on Dafont.
We chose these as possible fonts as they fit theme of dystopia as they are distorted fonts.
